Katherine Greenwood
USC University Ombuds, University Park Campus
Kathie Greenwood, JD, PhD, is the University Ombuds supporting the UPC campus community. She is a Certified Organizational Practitioner (CO-OP®) and an active member of the International Ombuds Association, where she mentors new ombuds and teaches the Foundations of Organizational Ombuds Course. Before joining USC, Kathie directed the Ombuds Office at UC Davis and UC Davis Health and served as Ombuds at the University of Colorado Denver. She began her career practicing international maritime law, working in New York, San Francisco, and London and teaching at Loyola University Chicago. Kathie brings extensive coaching and training experience to USC, offering sessions on conflict management, workplace dynamics, and effective communication. Kathie is available for individual consultations, conflict coaching, group facilitations, mediations, and trainings.

Tom Kosakowski, JD
Thomas A. Kosakowski
USC University Ombuds, Health Sciences Campus
Tom Kosakowski, JD, serves as the University Ombuds for the Health Sciences Campus, including affiliated schools, hospitals, clinics, and research facilities. Prior to establishing the office at USC, Tom served in a similar capacity as the Ombuds for the Health System at UCLA for 12 years. He also established the Ombuds Office at Claremont Graduate University and served as the Campus Ombuds at UC Riverside. He trained as a mediator with the LA County Bar Association and has mediated cases for the LA Superior Court. Tom is an active member of the International Ombuds Association and served on its Board of Directors, including as President. He regularly teaches new ombuds as an instructor for IOA. Tom also publishes “The Ombuds Blog,” an independent news site for the organizational ombuds profession. This is Tom’s third career; he worked as an economist and attorney before becoming an ombuds. (Tom is admitted to the California State Bar, but does not provide legal advice as the University Ombuds.) Tom is available for individual consultations, conflict coaching, group work, facilitated meetings, mediations, and presentations on conflict management topics.

Stacy Rouse
Assistant Ombuds
Stacy Rouse, MDR, is the Assistant Ombuds for both the UPC and HSC campuses. Stacy is an active member of the International Ombuds Association (IOA). She has a background in conflict resolution, facilitation, mediation, intergroup meetings, and group communication. She currently serves as a school board member for Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Prior to entering the ombuds field, Stacy worked extensively in higher education, including seven years with Pepperdine University in program management and Student Affairs, as well as TK-12th grade education. She has a master’s degree in Dispute Resolution, and a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Stacy provides scheduling and intake services for the Ombuds Office.
